At Merlin Music we believe that playing music and learning an instrument is something that everyone should have an opportunity to do. Every person regardless of age or level of experience is we believe capable of gaining the skills and knowledge needed to make playing a musical instrument rewarding and fun.

For example, in 2011 we organised the First Merlin Academy Christmas Concert. where the pupils showed off their newly-learned skills to friends and family.

The Advantage of Learning An Instrument

Recent studies have shown Children who play a musical instrument test higher in verbal skills, maths related spatial skills and even memory skills. Music is a vital part of a complete education. Other benefits of playing an instrument includes commitment and team work. Learning to play an instrument requires commitment and practice, but taking lessons in a supportive creative environment with Tutors who are also committed and highly experienced makes learning fun.

Of course the Social side of getting together and learning a musical instrument is also extremely important for a person of any age and very rewarding.
